📅 Booking & Planning
Our safari packages typically include accommodation, meals (depending on package), professional guide services, game drives in national parks, and wildlife viewing experiences. 10% of your booking fee is donated to Help African Animals for conservation efforts. Custom packages can include additional activities like walking safaris, boat tours, and community visits.
We recommend booking 4-8 weeks in advance to secure your preferred dates and lodge accommodations. However, we can accommodate last-minute bookings depending on availability. Peak season (June-August and December-January) should be booked earlier.
Absolutely! We specialize in creating personalized safari experiences. Contact our team to discuss your interests, budget, and travel dates. We can customize duration, destinations, activities, and accommodation to match your preferences perfectly.

Yes, typically a 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before your safari. The 10% conservation contribution is calculated on the full package price.
🦁 Safari Experience
Essential items: Light, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, tan, green), comfortable walking shoes, sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses), binoculars, camera with zoom lens, lightweight rain jacket, insect repellent, medications, and toiletries. Avoid: Bright colors, perfume, and excessive jewelry. We provide a detailed packing list upon booking.
Uganda has two dry seasons ideal for safaris: June-August (cooler, less crowded) and December-February (warm, moderate rainfall). Short rains: October-November (fewer tourists, lush landscapes). Long rains: March-May (less ideal but possible). Each season offers unique wildlife viewing opportunities.
Yes, we provide all camping equipment for camping safaris: tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, and cooking gear. Professional guides handle setup. We also offer lodge accommodations for those preferring more comfort. Discuss your preference when booking.
Options range from luxury lodges (5-star) with en-suite bathrooms and amenities, to mid-range camps with comfortable facilities, to budget-friendly eco-camps with basic but clean accommodations. We also offer camping safaris for adventurous travelers. All accommodate your budget and comfort level.
Most safari packages include meals at your accommodation. Typical safaris feature hearty breakfasts, packed lunches during game drives, and three-course dinners. Special dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, allergies) are accommodated with advance notice. Beverages may be additional depending on your package.
We accommodate all dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, and kosher diets. Please inform us at booking so we can arrange with your lodge. Nutritionists and cooks at lodges work to provide balanced, delicious meals. We can also arrange packed meals for those with severe restrictions.
🌍 Conservation & Volunteering
10% of every safari booking is donated to Help African Animals, our conservation partner. These funds support wildlife protection, habitat restoration, anti-poaching efforts, and community conservation education. You'll receive a certificate showing your conservation impact. This applies to all our safari packages automatically.
Yes! Depending on your itinerary, we can arrange visits to Help African Animals project sites. You'll see firsthand the conservation work your safari supports. Field staff conduct educational tours about wildlife protection and community initiatives. Some visits include animal encounters and habitat restoration activities.
We offer programs in: Wildlife monitoring (tracking animals, data collection), habitat restoration (tree planting, wetland cleanup), community education (teaching at schools), anti-poaching patrols (with experienced rangers), and research support (assisting researchers). Programs range from 1-12 weeks.
No special qualifications required! We welcome people of all backgrounds. Volunteers with wildlife, biology, or conservation experience can take advanced roles. All volunteers receive training on our first week. Physical fitness, enthusiasm, and commitment matter more than experience.
Minimum volunteer duration is 2 weeks for most programs to ensure meaningful contribution and proper training. Longer commitments (4-12 weeks) are preferred for research and monitoring projects. Shorter durations may be available for special programs - contact us for details.
